Chambers & Partners, one of the most prestigious Anglo-Saxon legal directories, once again recognises the work of our lawyers in its Global Guide 2019 and its Europe Guide 2019.

Antonio Alcolea, our partner in charge of Public law in the Madrid office, has been ranked for the first time in the “Up and coming” category.

Our Corporate law team is also featured in the Directory, with special recognition for the work of the Barcelona office. Our Corporate and M&A partner José Miguel Martín-Zamorano is highlighted in his area of specialisation in the Europe Guide 2019 and in the Global Guide 2019.

The Department of Competition law and European law, and the Tax law team remain in the ranking among the most outstanding in the country.

Diego Crespo is ranked Band 3 of the Competition law ranking and is described by our clients as brilliant and diligent. They also rate him as “Specialisation, accessibility, knowledge, good communication skills and understanding of problems“. In this area, our partner Stefan Rating is also featured for the first time.

Santiago Díez, maintains his leadership position in Band 3 of the Tax law ranking of our partner in charge of the Madrid Office. Our clients highlight his always resolute way of working: “An excellent understanding of the tax implications and opportunities of various corporate structures“.

Antonio Marimón and Nerea Azcune, are highlighted in the ranking of Banking and Financial law. Regarding Antonio Marimón our clients emphasize his ability to work in both German and English languages: “He can explain any documentation in any of those languages“; another of our clients states: “He is incredibly hard-working, can manage many things at once and his memory is extraordinary“. Nerea Azcune, appears in the ranking for the third consecutive year as: “leading lawyer/associate to watch“, and in relation to her work, clients appreciate her specialization among other capacities: “always organised and knows all of the specialised points to do with finance and contracts“. The broad scope of the work of our Banking and financial law department means that this area is recognised both in the Europe Guide 2019 and in the Chambers Global Guide 2019.

Chambers Global 2019 also highlights the activity of our international Desks in the area of Corporate law and M&A. The work of our Italian desk and also of our German desk is highlighted.
