Change of use from commercial premises to housing

Change of use from commercial premises to housing

Since the successive crises and the pandemic, we are facing a growing paradox: on the one hand, the proliferation of empty commercial premises, the result of a retail trade in crisis; and, on the other hand, the continuous escalation of housing prices. This has led some Autonomous Communities to implement measures to promote access to housing, including making the change of use of premises to housing more flexible, which, in turn, has generated a growing interest among both individuals and investors in the acquisition of premises with the intention of changing their use and converting them into housing.
